Water states

A couple of days ago we did an experiment with water (Ice). First off we set up our bunsen burner, tripod, gauze mat, and the clamps. We put ice into the beaker so it would be ready to boil, we waited for Mr. Reizinger to light up our bunsen burner. It was ice cubes and start so it was in its solid form, then once it melted the water turned into its liquid form. as the ice cubes were melting the thermometer was recording the temperature change. After the water had been boiled it would turn into its vapor form (GAS FORM)

Raising agents

AIM - what is the best raising agent METHOD -  1. Measure 1/2 tsp raising agent into a test tube                      2. Half fill the balloon with water                      3. Put the balloon over the test tube                      4. Tip in the water                      5. Record what happens to the balloon                      6. Warm gently                      7. Record what happens to the balloon                      8. Leave to one side, Record what happens after 5 - 10 mins    OBSERVATION - The best raising agent is the baking powder because it inflated the balloon faster than the active yeast TYPE OF RAISING AGENT INITIAL REACTION AFTER WARMING AFTER 5 MINS AFTER 20 MINS BAKING POWDER Fizzed up and inflated the balloon nothing BAKING SODA Dissolved in the water and kinda inflated YEAST & SUGAR It did not dissolve fully like it was supposed to Foamed up Balloon got bigger ]
