The article that really caught my eyes was Creuza Oliveira, a domestic worker in Brazil. Creuza was a domestic worker in Brazil that had no income and was abused in both mental and physical states. Her story takes place in Bahia, Brazil. She started working as a domestic worker at 10 years of age and did not receive income until she was 21 years old. She was unable to balance work and school. Olivera told a gathering of sidelines of Durban Reviews at the United Nations headquarters her story. Over the years she climbed to the top of the National Federation ranks, now she is President of the National Federation of domestic workers in brazil. Interestingly, She is active in the black movement and the women's movement. Olivera made changes to domestic workers, some of the changes were that no one should be working as a domestic worker until they reach the age of 18, they are also paid for their work and duties as a domestic workers.
